Women's Assistant Merchandiser, A I X Armani Exchange

The Assistant Merchandiser supports the Director of Merchandising in creating and executing business strategies to meet or exceed financial plans. This person�??s role will be to collaborate and communicate closely with cross-functional team members to ensure all projects are moving toward the financial and calendar goals.

Purchasing & Open-Buy Monitoring:

  • Actively participates in merchandise selection process to establish the optimal commercial assortment for North America
  • Assists in conducting line reviews/style outs for management
  • Support the Merchants in the order entry process of seasonal orders
  • Assists in the maintenance of the checkbook (purchases vs. plan)
  • Influence category assortments by analyzing product performance, customer feedback, consumer trend/data, competitive landscape, and local market knowledge

Financial In-season Management:

  • Manage weekly reporting and partner with Director to analyze weekly business to proactively make suggestions on ways to change and drive current business, as well as create strategies for future buys
  • Participates in weekly Planning/Allocation strategy sessions
  • Support in markdowns on seasonal merchandise
  • Participate in store calls to review presentations, identify problems, and listen for suggestions and comments
  • Leverage key investment strategy and product launches by working with the Visual Merchandiser to ensure proper display of the product along with in-season rotation.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product Knowledge, Visual Merchandising, Store Operations and Field Team to create synergies among all consumer touchpoints
  • Maintain close relationships with General Managers and store teams to allow effective and timely communication
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the retail industry through store visits and competitive analysis

Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong product sensibility and analytical skills
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in the field

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within the range of USD $60,000 - $70,000 annually based on experience, plus the opportunity for a bonus, a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discount/perks and retirement plans with employer contributions. This position is located at our Giorgio Armani Corporate Office in NYC and offers the opportunity for a hybrid on-site schedule.
